About The Position

Sentara Health is hiring Registered Nurses for the ICU at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital. This position offers multiple shifts, including Full Time Nights and Part-Time Days. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The role also encompasses standards of professional performance such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess the clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas and maintain any requirements defined by specific specialties.

Requirements

  • RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State RN License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.

  • Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
  • Meet and maintain any requirements defined by specific specialty.
