The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Health HEB will deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This role involves assessing patients, planning care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The nurse will incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others' needs for information, and maintain continuity of patient care between shifts, hospitals, and during transfers. The ICU department is an 18-bed unit specializing in Trauma, Neurosurgical, and Cardiovascular patient care, offering opportunities to train in high-acuity skills. It is a fast-paced, high-acuity unit with 24/7 Intensivist coverage and strong nurse/doctor collaboration.
