About The Position

This Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Health Cleburne offers a dynamic environment where you can bring your passion to work. The ICU department has 16 beds and cares for a variety of patients with complex needs, including those requiring CRRT, Balloon pumps, hyperthermia, hypothermia, various drips, step-down patients, and neuro patients. The unit operates as a General Acute Intensive Care Unit and can function as a swing bed unit based on acuity levels. The role emphasizes self-scheduling for work-life balance and provides opportunities for educational and career growth. The department boasts a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and an engaged leadership team.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire required
1 Year Experience as a registered nurse in acute care setting
Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
have basic computer skills using Medical management application systems

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
ACLS – within 90 days required
2+ years of RN experience in ICU strongly preferred
Charge nurse/preceptor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
