The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 7-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit featuring private rooms equipped for comprehensive patient monitoring, including ECG, dialysis, SPO2, and hemodynamic pressure monitoring. Telemedicine intensivist services are available 24/7. The unit's skill mix includes Registered Nurses (RNs) and Patient Care Technicians. Management of the ICU and Acute Care Unit is overseen by a Nurse Director and a Clinical Coordinator. Staffing levels are adjusted based on patient acuity and volume per shift. The Clinical Nurse roles (I, II, and III) integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to provide patient and family care, assist in illness prevention and wellness maintenance, and offer comfort. These roles involve delivering and documenting age-specific care, administering medications safely, and identifying potential incompatibilities or interactions. Higher levels (Clinical Nurse II and III) involve recognizing and intervening in changing patient situations, mobilizing resources, and assuming leadership responsibilities. Clinical Nurse III anticipates patient changes and serves as a role model. All clinical nurse levels are responsible for organizing work and delegating tasks to other staff members.
