About The Position

This Registered Nurse position is for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Health Alliance. The ICU unit is a 12-bed unit specializing in high-quality care for critical patients. The role offers opportunities to train in advanced skills such as Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Targeted Temperature Management, Impella, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). The unit provides professional growth, career development, and outstanding support. There is 24/7 Intensivist/Advanced Nurse Practitioner coverage for patient oversight. The hospital offers National Certification Preparation and Courses, as well as test reimbursement/bonus. There is strong nurse/doctor collaboration and self-scheduling is offered. Requirements

Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS – within 90 days required
NIHSS – within 60 days of hire
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
1 Year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of current ICU experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
