About The Position

This position delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, which includes assessing the patient, planning the care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role also incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care, initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information, and maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers. The ICU department is a 12-bed unit specializing in high-quality care for critical patients, with opportunities to train in high acuity skills such as Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Targeted Temperature Management, Impella, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). The unit offers opportunities for professional growth, career development, and outstanding support. There is 24/7 Intensivist/Advanced Nurse Practitioner coverage for exceptional pulmonary critical care patient oversight. National Certification Preparation and Courses are offered, as well as test reimbursement/bonus. There is great nurse/doctor collaboration and self-scheduling is offered. Nurses are encouraged to share their voice on hospital-wide councils and committees to be included in important changes to continuously improve the quality of patient care and the working environment.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma in Nursing required
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days required
  • NIHSS – within 60 days of hire
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1 Year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • At least 1 year of current ICU experience strongly preferred
