About The Position

Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to patients in the ICU-CCU. This includes collecting and analyzing assessment data, identifying expected outcomes, and developing a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team members. The role involves implementing interventions, evaluating patient progress, and documenting the care process, with sensitivity to age-specific and unique patient/family needs. The position also promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the healthcare team, collaborating to meet patient/family needs and delegating tasks as appropriate according to the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other established standards.
  • Deliver nursing care in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care/practice.
  • Collect and analyze assessment data.
  • Identify expected outcomes.
  • Develop a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implement interventions identified in the plan of care.
  • Evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes.
  • Document the nursing care process.
  • Provide care with sensitivity to age-specific and unique needs of the patient/family.
  • Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the health care team.
  • Collaborate with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care.
  • Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.
