About The Position

The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. This role requires 0-6 months of related experience and is not available for new graduates. The position may require floating between the Emergency Center Eufaula and Emergency Center Saint Francis Hospital Muskogee. The Registered Nurse I utilizes the nursing process to care for patients, assessing, organizing, and completing patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors. They document steps of the nursing process, utilize proper medical terminology, and address problems and progress toward goals. The role also facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaboration with other disciplines is expected, as is supporting unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities.

Requirements

• Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
• Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
• 0 - 6 months related experience.
• Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
• Requires 36 hours per week (3) 12-hour shifts
• Weekends and Holidays required per department process

Nice To Haves

• Emergency Room experience strongly preferred
• May be required to float between Emergency Center Eufaula and Emergency Center Saint Francis Hospital Muskogee

• Supports unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities as evidenced by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
