Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. This role is for the ART Acute Care & Surgical Acute Care units. The Ashley River Tower (ART) - 6 East is a surgical acute care unit that focuses on developing nurses through education, mentorship, and experience to provide safe, holistic care. It offers an educational, collaborative work environment and is part of a Magnet organization with a nurse residency program for new graduates. The unit works closely with MSICU and rapid response teams using the Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS) and cares for patients recovering from various surgical and medical conditions. The Ashley River Tower (ART) - 6 West is a 21-bed acute care unit providing comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses, including general medicine, cardiology, GI surgery, surgical oncology, cardiothoracic surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, and hematology/oncology. Nurses on ART 6W are trained in various clinical devices, tools, and techniques to ensure safe, high-quality care, with typical nurse to patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:5.
