Registered Nurse I - Atrium Health Cabarrus Family Medicine (Aging) FT Nights
About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse I on the Age-Friendly Unit at Atrium Health Cabarrus, focusing on providing excellent care to geriatric patients (typically 65 and above). The care is centered around the 4Ms: What Matters, Mentation, Medication, and Mobility. The unit handles various medical-surgical cases for stable geriatric patients, including GI, respiratory, diabetes, cardiac, or infectious complications. The role involves participating in Professional Governance and the Unit Coordinating Council to voice opinions and influence unit practices. There are opportunities for Clinical Ladder Advancement and Professional Certifications. The 28-bed unit utilizes an Exercise Physiologist for mobilization, a Geriatric Pharmacist for medication reviews, and has Geriatric APPs and a Gerontologist who attend Interdisciplinary Rounds.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
Responsibilities
- As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
