About The Position

The Catering Cook is responsible for reviewing menus, assembling food supplies and equipment for daily food production, and following instructions and assignments from the manager. This role involves preparing assigned menu items according to recipes and production methods, completing daily production records, and ensuring food is prepared correctly by observing, tasting, smelling, and using a thermometer. The cook will also label, date, and properly store leftovers.

Requirements

  • Ability to read recipes and production records.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2 years experience as a cook or in food preparation perferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews menus, assembles food supplies and equipment for daily food production following instructions and assignments by manager.
  • Follows recipe and other production methods to complete preparation of assigned menu items.
  • Completes daily production records as required.
  • Observes and tests food being prepared by tasting, smelling, and using a thermometer to determine that it is prepared according to the recipe.
  • Labels, dates and properly stores leftovers.
