Registered Nurse I (Fall 2026 New Grad Blitz) - Rutledge Tower Holding
About The Position
The Rutledge Tower Preop/Holding room consists of 12 preop bays that serve 9 operating rooms. We have a diverse adult patient population with numerous specialties. Our RNs & LPNs prep patients for surgery who often come from home (outpatients), a facility, the inpatient floor, and/or the Emergency department. Our Holding RNs/LPNs should be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment as, well as possess strong critical thinking, IV, & communication skills. Our staff works closely with the anesthesia team, surgeons & residents, OR nurses, & the PACU staff, to prepare patients for their procedure. The RT Preop/Holding room is open Monday - Friday, 0530-1700 (we are currently closed on weekends & major holidays). BLS & ACLS are required.
Requirements
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
