About The Position
The Vascular Access Team cares for a wide variety of patients from infants to elderly adults. We service all areas of the hospital including inpatient and outpatient areas. This is perfect for nurses who like walking a lot and can push a cart around. We have a collaborative approach with multiple disciplines within our facility. Our team prides itself on teamwork, respect, open communication, and giving exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Chemo/Bio course completion within 3-4 months of hire
- Experienced/Successful with PIV placements
Nice To Haves
- VABC is not required but highly encouraged after 2 years on our team.
Responsibilities
- Providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
- Ultrasound guided PIV placements, Midline and PICC line placements, administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, insertion of SBFT’s, and therapeutic phlebotomy.
- Rounding on all central lines/midlines daily and documenting line necessity on central lines.
- Preventing central line blood stream infections.
