About The Position

Baptist Health Walker Hospital is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse for their Float Pool. This position works three 12-hour shifts on the Night Shift. The role provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients requiring complex assessments, high-intensity interventions, and continuous monitoring. The nurse uses clinical judgment and assessment data to anticipate, prioritize, and respond quickly to changing patient conditions. They operate, monitor, and adjust specialized medical equipment and interpret data from monitoring systems. The nurse responds to emergencies using established nursing standards, protocols, and life-saving interventions. They assess patient needs, develop and revise individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes. The role involves advocating for patients and families while ensuring age-appropriate care across the lifespan. Collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams is expected, and the nurse may serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or educator. Accurate documentation, appropriate delegation, and ensuring compliance with evidence-based practice and regulatory standards are key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department.
  • Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care setting.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of RN experience in an acute care setting.
