About The Position
Wilson Health is seeking a direct hire Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) for its Surgical Services Department in Sidney, Ohio. This full-time position involves assisting physicians during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to optimal patient outcomes. The Surgical Services Department handles over 4,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries annually across various specialties and is staffed by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Current Ohio RN license
- Completion of an RNFA Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire and maintained.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire and maintained.
- Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification
Nice To Haves
- Certified RN First Assistant (CRNFA) certification
Responsibilities
- Participates in preoperative assessment and planning for selected surgical patients in collaboration with perioperative team members in the preoperative location.
- Responsible for applying principles of asepsis and infection control management.
- Displays consistent awareness of safety hazards and initiates appropriate preventative and corrective actions.
- Handles and dissects tissues in collaboration with the surgeon.
- Clamps blood vessels, coagulating bleeding points, ligation of vessels, and performs other procedures in collaboration with the surgeon.
- Responsible for suturing muscle, fascia, subcutaneous, and skin tissue in collaboration with the surgeon.
