About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) for a 16-week contract opportunity in Chico, California. In this role, you will function as a first assistant to the surgeon during operative procedures, providing advanced perioperative nursing support while ensuring safe, efficient, and evidence-based patient care throughout the surgical process.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Current RNFA certification required.
- Current CNOR certification required.
- Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse First Assist experience required.
- Ability to complete medical staff credentialing before assignment.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
- Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and equipment before procedures.
- Monitor patient safety and support perioperative care throughout surgery.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
- Document surgical care accurately and comply with established clinical standards.
