This full-time Registered Nurse position in the NICU at Aurora Sinai Medical Center requires 36 hours per week, including every Saturday and Sunday day shift (07-1930) and one additional 12-hour shift. The role includes on-call and holiday rotation per department needs, with one weekend off allowed per quarter. NRP certification is required within 6 months of hire, and NICU experience is mandatory. The pay range for this position is $38.20 - $57.30. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes, while upholding a culture of safety and continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes. The nurse may administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to clinical protocols, demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, and foster team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Professional development, required education, and certifications must be maintained, adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. The role also involves appropriate delegation to other nursing personnel and maintaining accurate, timely EHR documentation. Floating to other units or facilities within the designated service area may be required. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles across the life span.
