About The Position
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) is a Critical Access Hospital located in West Texas, operating a state-of-the-art 18-bed facility opened in 2012. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ER is primarily responsible for the total nursing care, including assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge processes for assigned patients, aiming for optimal health outcomes and continuity of care. This role involves administering medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, adhering to current clinical nursing practices, and directing, monitoring, and evaluating care delegated to non-licensed personnel to ensure a safe environment. The RN is also expected to cross-train across all patient care departments to maintain adequate staffing levels.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse license certified by the State of Texas or licensure from a state within the nursing compact required.
- Hold current CPR/BLS or obtain upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- Credentials in an advanced cardiac life support course (e.g. ACLS or hospital equivalent) preferred
- Credentials in a nationally recognized pediatric advanced life support course (e.g. PALS or ENPC) preferred
- TNCC preferred
- One (1) year experience as a Professional Registered Nurse in a hospital environment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Has principal responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge process of each assigned patient to attain optimal health and continuity of care.
- Administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice.
- Responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating care delegated to non-licensed personnel ensuring that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment.
- Cross-trains to all patient care departments to ensure adequate staffing levels.
