About The Position

UW Medical Center-Northwest - Endoscopy has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse. This position will primarily work at our inpatient hospital endoscopy unit and will provide cross-coverage to our brand-new outpatient endoscopy suite, both located in North Seattle. We have 7 combined procedure rooms (4 outpatient, 3 inpatient). Inpatient RNs provide additional support for emergent and therapeutic endoscopies, and outpatient RNs provide procedural support for diagnostic and screening GI services. Requirements

1 year of recent endoscopic nursing experience
BLS
Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

Responsibilities

Assist providers during endoscopic procedures
Provide patient care before, during, and after conscious sedation
Educate patients
Administer medication
Use and maintain endoscopic equipment
Help manage emergencies and complications
Promote efficient patient flow by assisting with patient admission, phone triage, and record keeping
