About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy / Special Procedures Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in York, Maine. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled procedural nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional patient care throughout the procedural experience.
Requirements
- Active Maine Registered Nurse (RN) License or valid Compact License required.
- Minimum 5 years of overall nursing experience required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of Endoscopy and/or Critical Care (ICU/ER) experience required.
- Current BLS/BCLS Certification required.
- Current ACLS Certification required.
- Strong patient assessment and procedural nursing skills.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with procedural sedation and patient monitoring preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic and specialized procedures.
- Manage patient care during pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases.
- Monitor patient vital signs, sedation status, and recovery progress.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Prepare and maintain procedural equipment and supplies.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and procedural activities.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Participate in required on-call coverage and holiday rotations as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
