About The Position
A healthcare facility in Ottumwa, Iowa is seeking a junior-level Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Room team. This is a fully on-site, in-person position requiring regular reporting to the facility location. The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will deliver direct patient care within a fast-paced emergency department setting, assessing and responding to patients across a wide range of acuity levels. The role involves applying clinical nursing skills and established emergency care protocols in alignment with standard emergency department practice. Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Iowa or a multistate license allowing practice in Iowa required
- Current Basic Life Support certification required
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification required
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required
- Current Trauma Nursing Core Course certification required
- Iowa Mandatory Reporter certification for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to emergency department patients across all acuity levels
- Perform rapid and thorough patient assessments upon presentation
- Apply emergency care protocols and clinical nursing skills in time-sensitive situations
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in clinical status with appropriate action
- Collaborate with physicians and the emergency care team to ensure coordinated treatment delivery
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation for all patient encounters
