Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (ED)
About The Position
ATC Healthcare Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED). This role involves rapid patient assessment, triage, and the execution of clinical care plans. The nurse will administer medications, perform life-saving interventions, and assist physicians with critical procedures. Providing patient-centered, culturally congruent care and effective communication with patients and families are key aspects of this position. Maintaining high standards of nursing practice and accurate record-keeping are essential. Full-time nurses are required to complete 16 hours of on-call duty per 6-week scheduling period.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree, Diploma, BSN, or MSN.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting (e.g., Emergency Room, ICU, Telemetry, or Med/Surg).
- Valid Virginia RN License or Multi-State Compact License in good standing.
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications required within one year of hire.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or MSN strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly assess patient status, prioritize cases based on urgency, and implement plans of care.
- Administer medications, perform life-saving interventions, and assist physicians in critical procedures (e.g., intubations, starting IVs, splinting).
- Provide culturally congruent care, collaborate with the healthcare team, and communicate effectively with patients and distressed family members.
- Maintain the highest standards of nursing practice and professional performance, keeping detailed, accurate patient records.
- Complete 16 hours of on-call duty per 6-week scheduling period (for Full-Time nurses).
