About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) for a 13-week contract position in Utica, New York. The RN will provide emergency nursing care in a 64-bed Emergency Department serving newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients across a broad range of acuity levels. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide skilled, responsive, and evidence-based emergency care across a diverse patient population and broad range of clinical acuity.

Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License Required at Time of Submission.
• Minimum 2 Years of Emergency Department Nursing Experience Required, Including Pediatric Experience.
• Previous Travel Nursing Experience Required
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications Required.
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certifications Required
• Epic Experience and Ability to Float Required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and comprehensive assessments, prioritize patients according to acuity, and provide timely emergency nursing interventions.
• Care for newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients presenting with medical, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, behavioral health, and traumatic emergencies.
• Recognize clinical deterioration and respond appropriately to stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and other critical conditions.
• Administer and monitor emergency and critical-care medications and infusions, including vasopressors, vasodilators, antiarrhythmics, sedation medications, anticoagulants, thrombolytics, and insulin.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic, collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, and float to other appropriate clinical areas when required.
