About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Department at Texas Health Fort Worth, a MAGNET, Level I Trauma Center. The Emergency Department is a 100-bed, 75,000 square foot facility that includes a Quick Care area for minor needs, diagnostic rooms for more extensive workups, and 22 Emergent Care rooms (including three resuscitation rooms) for critical injuries or illnesses. The department also has a dedicated area for the care of sexual assault victims. The role offers self-scheduling for work-life balance and a supportive, team-oriented environment with opportunities for educational and career growth, including leadership advancement.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS – within 90 days required
PALS – within 90 days required
TNCC or ATCN – within 12 months of hire required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients.
Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism.
Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems.

BSN preferred
CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
Current ED strongly preferred - will consider ICU/PCU, Tele experience

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process: assesses the patient, plans the care of the patient, intervenes as appropriate, evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
