About The Position

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients across various age groups, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The primary responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Current and valid nursing license in New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
• Completion of a skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Proven experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC.
• Must have previous travel nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients with common diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
• Administer and monitor required medications and drips including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, and sedation agents.
• Utilize specialty equipment, including Rapid Infusors and Arctic Sun.
• Provide care to all assigned patients, including those needing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding health conditions and recovery plans.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Float to other units as needed to support departmental needs.
