The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing and coordinating the care of patients through the use of the nursing process: assessment, planning implementation and evaluation. Included is recognition and treatment of the physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the specific unit. This is for a 30-bed Emergency Care Unit, a rapid-paced, high acuity unit with 155 visits per day; > 55,000 annual visits. ACLS, PALS, and EKG are provided. An orientation program facilitated by a Clinical Educator, focused on Emergency Nursing especially for the novice nurse, is offered, including the Emergency Nursing Association (ENA) orientation curriculum online. This is a part-time position (40 hours biweekly) with a 12-hour evening shift (example: 11A-11p, 1P-1A, 3P-3A) and requires every third weekend. The position is eligible for shift and weekend differential.
