About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Dallas will bring their passion to a team that is Better + Together. This is a PRN/Variable Shifts position, requiring 6 shifts per 6-week schedule, including weekend and holiday requirements. The Emergency Department is a fast-paced, high-volume department averaging 200 patients per day, offering self-scheduling for work-life balance, opportunities for educational and career growth, and a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) with engaged leadership.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma in Nursing required or Associate’s degree in nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
1 year of experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
1 year of RN Emergency Department in a hospital setting strongly preferred
RN – Registered upon hire required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training annually within 90 days required
TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months required or ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care Nurse within 6 months required
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
