About The Position
This position is for an Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) working on a PRN basis. The role involves ensuring patient care areas are stocked, clean, and equipped, responding to life-saving situations, and managing patient discharges with individualized plans. The nurse will report patient condition changes to the Medical Provider, provide reports at shift change or during transfers/admissions, and meticulously document patient information. Administering prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards and policies is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- RN License
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current BLS and ACLS Required
- PALS/ENPC/TNCC within 6 months of hire
Responsibilities
- Assures patient care areas, triage and waiting room are well stocked, and clean and equipment and supplies are available.
- Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
- Discharge patients utilizing individualized discharge plans.
- Reporting concerns or changes in the patient's condition to the Medical Provider.
- Gives report to the receiving nurse at shift change or with transfer or admission per policy.
- Document patient information completely and per policy.
- Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and per policy.
