About The Position

Ascension Via Christi, St Joseph Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Emergency Department. This is a full-time, night-shift position with a schedule of 7:00 pm - 7:00 am. The role offers a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University. Requirements

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the clinical response for patients in acute distress by implementing and adapting care plans that prioritize life-saving interventions and stabilizing outcomes.
  • Orchestrate the multidisciplinary team as the primary care coordinator, ensuring every specialist and department works in perfect sync to provide seamless, rapid patient care.
  • Advocate for patient safety by continuously monitoring and communicating critical changes in condition to the medical team, ensuring immediate action when every second counts.
  • Drive the path to recovery by accurately executing complex physician orders and clinical protocols with precision and clinical expertise.
  • Navigate the patient’s transition by collaborating with the healthcare team to design and execute effective discharge or admission plans that ensure long-term stability and support.
