About The Position

Ensign Services, Inc.’s (ESI) Compliance Department is seeking a Registered Nurse - Compliance Partner. This is a field-based position that requires regular travel to assigned facilities. Candidates must live within close proximity to a major airport in the Southern California area (Los Angeles, Ventura, Van Nuys, Irvine, Santa Monica, San Diego). The primary responsibilities will involve performing clinical compliance audits, conducting internal investigations under the direction of the associate and chief compliance officer, and reviewing and analyzing medical records and/or claims to detect possible compliance or quality issues. ESI's compliance philosophy is to work closely with field facilities, agencies, and resources to develop solid relationships that enhance and foster compliance throughout the organization. They provide training, oversight, and auditing functions, and also serve as partners to providers to assist them in building successful businesses in an ethical and compliant manner.

Requirements

Must be a Registered Nurse.
1-2 years of nursing experience in the skilled nursing environment.
Candidates must live within close proximity to a major airport in the Southern California area (Los Angeles, Ventura, Van Nuys, Irvine, Santa Monica, San Diego).
Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing the skilled nursing industry.
Excellent communication skills.
Superior interpersonal communication skills.
Strong writing skills.
Works well independently in a home office environment on long term projects and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
An engaging and informative teacher for regular training of facility personnel.
Possesses and conveys high degree of credibility and integrity.
Understands and accepts the unpredictable nature and needs of the compliance function in a large organization.
Pre‑employment criminal background screening required.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 1 to 2 years of leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility required, 3-5 years is preferred.

Responsibilities

Creates and presents regular training on clinical compliance and general healthcare compliance topics.
Performs clinical systems compliance audits.
Reviews medical records to detect possible compliance or quality issues and works to assist operations to develop a corrective action plan to resolve the same.
Conducts internal investigations involving general compliance and clinical issues under the direction of a lead compliance partner or the Chief Compliance Officer.
