Registered Nurse RN Clinical Manager
About The Position
Amedisys is hiring a full-time, daytime Registered Nurse Clinical Manager for its adult, Medicare-certified home health services. The position is responsible for organizing clinical operations at the care center and overseeing patient-care quality and the clinical performance of nurses and aides. The manager coordinates referrals and admissions, scheduling, payor verification and precertification, documentation review, and patient plans of care. The role may include infrequent direct patient care in emergencies, participation in the on-call process, staff training, and helping investigate and resolve concerns from patients, families, and physicians. The listed salary range is $85,000 to $95,000.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Current RN license specific to the state or states assigned.
- One year of clinical RN experience in home health or hospice.
- One year of RN management experience.
- Current CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Recommend staff employment decisions to the director of operations, including hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or changes in status.
- Take responsibility for the overall quality of patient care and the clinical performance of nurses and aides.
- Organize clinical operations for the care center.
- Review service requests and determine patient eligibility and suitability for home care services.
- Work with intake to coordinate patient referrals and admissions.
- Oversee scheduling.
- Oversee payor verification and precertification requirements.
- Review other staff members’ documentation and ensure missing, incomplete, or untimely documentation issues are resolved.
- Assist clinicians with establishing immediate and long-term patient goals, setting priorities, and developing the Plan of Care.
- Regularly evaluate patient needs and make necessary plan-of-care revisions in collaboration with clinicians.
- Provide direct patient care infrequently in emergencies, as needed.
- Participate in the on-call process.
- Assist with staff training to ensure quality care, compliance, and fiscal responsibility.
- Participate in investigating and resolving patient, family, and physician concerns.
