About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Clinical Lead in the Medical Surgical department at Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, IL. The position is part-time, working day shifts. The Clinical Lead will direct daily med-surg operations, coordinate shift staffing, and manage resources to meet productivity standards while balancing unit patient-physician dynamics. They will evaluate daily patient needs to delegate population-appropriate assignments, monitor nursing/support staff, and ensure consistent, high-quality patient care. The role also involves mentoring and educating nursing staff, providing input on hiring and performance evaluations, and fostering professional development. Additionally, the Clinical Lead will oversee compliance with clinical objectives, resolve patient care complaints, and justify unit productivity variances to leadership.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
Must have one year RN medical surgical experience.
