About The Position

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Classroom Instructor for our Practical Nursing (LPN) program in Aurora. This role is designed for a nursing expert who wants to step away from the bedside and into a mentorship role. You will focus exclusively on classroom and skills lab instruction—helping future LPNs master the core nursing theory and hands-on skills they need to succeed in the healthcare field. We provide a supportive team structure where clinical instructors handle off-site rotations, allowing you to be fully present for your students in the classroom.

Requirements

Current, active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Colorado.
Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience providing direct patient care.
Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to break down complex clinical concepts for future LPNs.

Nice To Haves

Master’s in Nursing (MSN) preferred. BSN candidates with active enrollment in an MSN program will be considered with a commitment to completion.
Prior experience in teaching, precepting, or high-fidelity simulation.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver engaging lectures aligned with our approved Practical Nursing curriculum.
Facilitate simulation lab activities, providing hands-on instruction in a supportive, high-fidelity environment.
Support student progression through regular academic advising, performance check-ins, and proactive intervention.
Coach and mentor students specifically toward successful NCLEX-PN completion.
Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to ongoing program excellence and CNEA accreditation standards.
