About The Position

The Thomas B. Finan Center is an inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Cumberland, Maryland, owned and managed by the state of Maryland. This state psychiatric facility operates 88 beds and provides services to persons 18 years of age and older. This part-time contractual position involves providing general nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of care for a single shift to approximately 24 mentally ill patients. The role also provides guidance to licensed practical nurses and direct care staff. This position may be assigned to any shift or unit to provide necessary coverage.

Requirements

• Possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence.
• May require a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
• May require successful completion and maintenance of current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
• Must provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached.
• Subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of care given for a single shift to approximately 24 mentally ill patients.
• Give guidance to licensed practical nurses and direct care staff.
• May be assigned to any shift or unit to provide necessary coverage.
