About The Position

The Registered Nurse Charge, Operating Room is responsible for administering and directing appropriate nursing interventions as prescribed by a qualified physician or mid-level practitioner. The role requires effective communication, accurate documentation, and professional conduct consistent with the Nursing Code of Ethics and the organization’s service philosophy. This is a full-time days position working 36 hours per week from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday. There is no call requirement. A relocation stipend may be available to eligible new hires based on mileage. The position supports patient care, education, and research at Vanderbilt Health and may include additional duties beyond those listed.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse licensure.
Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
One year of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Perform initial nursing assessments and communicate findings to the assigned physician or mid-level practitioner.
Assess wound stage and measurements, document care plans, and evaluate patient status against desired outcomes.
Identify patient care situations that require intervention.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Educate patients and/or caregivers and advocate for patients in the delivery and coordination of care.
Collaborate as needed with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director, and the Medical Director regarding patient needs.
Communicate effectively and maintain accurate documentation.
Demonstrate professional behavior in accordance with the Nursing Code of Ethics and the organization’s service philosophy.
