The Registered Nurse performs nursing functions and supervises other RNs, LPNs, and other assistive personnel in the performance of nursing care according to the state nurse practice act. The Registered Nurse assesses patient needs, plans and implements patient care, and evaluates the effectiveness of care provided. This role involves assessing patient needs, planning and implementing patient care, and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided. The position requires the ability to assess and plan patient care considering biophysical, psychosocial, and spiritual patient care needs, establish patient goals, select interventions, and document the plan of care in the Electronic Health Record. It also involves providing safe and effective nursing care, administering medications, educating patients and families, coordinating patient care, recognizing changes in patient condition, and participating in multi-disciplinary patient care planning conferences. The role also includes professional development, staying updated on regulations and hospital policies, and acting as a team member by assisting staff, attending meetings, and managing supplies and equipment.
