Registered Nurse (RN)- Cath Lab
About The Position
The Cath Lab unit has four Cath Labs where physicians perform minimally invasive tests and procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease (complex catheterizations, electrophysiology and structural heart procedures). As a nurse in this department, you will assist the cardiovascular team during intra phase. The Cath Lab provides a collaborative/supportive team approach; embraces teaching/learning with a supportive and engaged leadership team. Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is a 686 bed, non-profit, acute care, teaching hospital, level 1 trauma center and level 3 perinatal center. Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS
- Minimum of 2 years critical care, Cath Lab, EP and/or IR nursing experience
Responsibilities
- Assist the cardiovascular team during intra phase.
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
