About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) for a 13-week contract position in Great Falls, Montana. This role supports a 10-bed ICU caring for high-acuity cardiovascular, critical care, medical, and surgical patients. Candidates must have recent open-heart recovery experience and be prepared to care for immediate postoperative open-heart patients from the beginning of the assignment. The RN will manage complex patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring, invasive lines, ventilatory support, and critical care interventions.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program Required.
• Active Montana Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
• Minimum 2 Years of Nursing Experience With Recent Critical Care Experience Required.
• Recent Open-Heart Recovery Experience, Including Immediate Postoperative Open-Heart Patient Care, Required.
• Current BLS,BCLS, ACLS, PALS Certifications Required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for cardiovascular, postoperative open-heart, medical, and surgical patients.
• Manage immediate postoperative open-heart patients and provide care for patients following PCI, pacemaker procedures, revascularization, thoracotomy, and other cardiovascular interventions.
• Monitor and manage A-lines, invasive and central lines, chest tubes, multiple IV infusions, cardiac telemetry, and invasive or noninvasive ventilatory support.
• Assess patient condition, recognize clinical deterioration, implement appropriate interventions, and provide care throughout admission, treatment, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals while serving as a clinical resource and assisting with staff precepting as needed.
• The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide skilled, high-acuity cardiovascular and critical care nursing to patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention.
