RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
About The Position
We are currently seeking a qualified nurse to join our Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU). This unit provides specialized care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical conditions requiring intensive care. The CSICU is dedicated to the post-operative recovery and complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring of patients. The CSICU features a four-bed configuration focused on delivering high-quality care. A stepdown unit is also available, which accommodates recovery for patients following cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery. Our team emphasizes a patient-centered approach, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for patients during their recovery.
Requirements
- Must hold an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Alabama or a compact state.
- AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications are required.
- Two years of recent CVICU nursing experience is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Successful completion of the Dysrhythmia Basic exam is required during onboarding.
Nice To Haves
- AHA PALS is preferred if working in a pediatric unit.
- Familiarity with the Meditech charting system is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the CSICU.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and respond to changes in patient conditions.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to all protocols and standards of care.
- Participate in educational opportunities for professional growth and enhanced patient care.
