About The Position

This is an Interventional Cardiac / Procedure Unit role. Responsibilities include pre/post invasive/diagnostics procedures, cardioversion, pre/post angiogram, elective PCI, and care for EP patients including ablation, lead placement, and pacer placement. The role also involves pre-TAVR & Mitral Clip, post-op recovery for same-day discharge structural heart patients (TAVRs, etc.), TEE, cardioversion, procedure sedation, blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, sheath removal, tele interpretation, and managing heparin and insulin drips. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience required.
  • Heavy experience with interventional cardiac patients.
  • Experience with cardiac procedures.
  • Proficient IV skills.
  • Sheath pull experience required.
  • Experience with stable drips.
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • NIHSS certification required.
  • Must be flexible to float to like units.
  • Must not be a first-time traveler.
  • Must be willing to accept a travel contract if a perm candidate from another providence facility (non-Swedish) and separated for at least 3 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates from any other providence facility (NON SWEDISH) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months.
  • All Swedish facilities honor active compact license.

Responsibilities

  • Care for interventional cardiac patients.
  • Assist with cardiac procedures.
  • Perform IV skills.
  • Manage stable drips.
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
  • Provide pre/post invasive/diagnostics procedure care.
  • Administer cardioversion.
  • Provide pre/post angiogram care.
  • Assist with elective PCI.
  • Care for EP patients (ablation, lead placement, pacer placement).
  • Provide pre-TAVR & Mitral Clip care.
  • Manage post-op recovery for same-day discharge structural heart patients (TAVRs, etc.).
  • Administer TEE.
  • Administer procedure sedation.
  • Administer blood/blood products.
  • Perform cardioversion/defibrillation.
  • Manage epicardial pacers.
  • Perform sheath removal.
  • Interpret telemetry.
  • Administer heparin drips.
  • Administer insulin drips.
