About The Position

This is a 13 to 26-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry. Floating is required as needed, with the potential to float every shift. The unit monitors cardiac patients and utilizes various cardiac drips. Contract staff are expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, with potential preassignment to units as needed. The position involves self-scheduling per unit needs, with 24 hours of unit orientation. Scrubs are not provided; navy scrubs are required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Telemetry experience.
  • PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience.
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring.
  • Pre/Post Cardiac Cath experience.
  • Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery experience.
  • Sheath Removal experience.
  • Accessing ports.
  • Blood Product Administration.
  • Central Line/care management.
  • PICC line management.
  • Cardiac drip titration (Diltiazem and Amiodarone).
  • Post cardiac cath experience.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
  • Must interview prior to finalizing the offer.

Nice To Haves

  • Charge experience.
  • NIH certification.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor cardiac patients.
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and perform remote monitoring.
  • Provide pre/post cardiac catheterization and pre/post cardiac surgery care.
  • Perform sheath removal.
  • Administer blood products.
  • Manage central lines and PICC lines.
  • Titrate cardiac drips such as Diltiazem and Amiodarone.
  • Work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team.
  • Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
  • Float to other units as needed.
  • Pull sheaths and apply TR bands/Femstop.
