About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry, working days. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. It also includes incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient information needs, and maintaining continuity of patient care across shifts and transfers. The department provides intermediate/telemetry level of care for various cardiac patients, including post-operative interventional cardiac care patients. The facility is an 833-bed MAGNET facility, a Level I Trauma Center, and a Primary Heart Attack Center.

Requirements

Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
ACLS – within 90 days of hire
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program
Basic computer skills using medical management application systems

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
ACLS – expiration date greater than 3 months preferred
Tele or Med/Surg experience preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process: assesses the patient, plans the care of the patient, intervenes as appropriate, evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
