About The Position

This Registered Nurse (RN) position is for Cardiac Telemetry 3 at Texas Health Fort Worth, located at 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104. The work hours are full-time, 36 hours weekly, consisting of 3-12 hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The department is a 25-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a Nurse: Patient ratio of 1:4. The unit provides intermediate/telemetry level of care for patients with conditions such as CABG, MVR, TAVR, heart-failure, and post-operative interventional cardiac care (Stents, Angioplasty, Cardiac Catheter). Texas Health Fort Worth is an 833-bed MAGNET facility, a Level I Trauma Center, and a Primary Heart Attack Center (PHAC). It is supported by a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and an engaged leadership team.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
  • Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
  • Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • ACLS – expiration date greater than 3 months preferred
  • Tele or Med/Surg experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • assesses the patient
  • plans the care of the patient
  • intervenes as appropriate
  • evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
