About The Position

The Cardiovascular Rehab RN or Cardiac Health RN in our Cardiac Rehabilitation department. A Cardiac Rehabilitation RN is a specialized RN who helps patients recover and improve their heart health after experiencing cardiac events such as heart attacks, heart surgeries, angioplasty, or heart failure. The Cardiac Rehabilitation RN’s goal is to support physical, emotional, and lifestyle recovery to reduce the risk of future heart problems, working in our Cardiac Rehabilitation unit.

Requirements

  • Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.
  • Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current required.
  • One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.
  • Experience in the Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, ICU or ER

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' health status, vitals, and readiness for exercise
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and exercise physiologists to create individualized rehabilitation plans
  • Monitor patients during physical activity, ensuring safety and appropriate intensity levels
  • Teach patients about heart-healthy living, medication management, nutrition, smoking cessation, and stress reduction
  • Track patient outcomes and adjust care plans based on response to therapy
  • Be prepared to respond to cardiac emergencies during exercise sessions
