POSITION: Casual Registered Nurse-Cardiac Rehab (As needed) EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Casual-As Needed WORK SCHEDULE: Days DEPARTMENT: Cardiac Rehabilitation Internal Posting Through: 9/7/2026 JOB SUMMARY: Perform RN job duties in Cardiac Rehab. Will lead by example promoting professional standards of conduct, proper ethics, positive interactions, morale and teamwork. Promotes a safe work environment for patients and employees. Assists in developing and maintaining policies and procedures in Cardiac Rehabilitation.

Requirements

  • Currently registered with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
  • Must have current BLS and ACLS certification per AHA guidelines.
  • Experience in assessing the individual needs of the adult, geriatric, adolescent and pediatric patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cardiac care, cardiac rhythm recognition, cardiac rhythm interpretation, exercise prescription and progression preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the RN process for nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation of care, and evaluation of patient progress.
  • Act as a resource to nursing staff as needed.
  • Provide patient and staff education.
  • Perform RN job duties in Cardiac Rehab as assigned.
  • Works cooperatively with the providers to assess the needs of each patient on an individual basis and provide the services necessary to meet these needs.
  • Performs EKG’s and chest pain/cardiac assessment when appropriate.
  • Performs BCLS & ACLS per AHA guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist the physician in the delivery of patient care in Cardiology.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in providing patient and family cardiac rehab education, including healthy lifestyle and change management.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple priorities and workload, with the use of critical thinking, delegation skills and respectful communication.
  • Follow and adhere to all GICH policies.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
