About The Position

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Cardiac Rehab department. This PRN position offers a unique nursing opportunity to work alongside Exercise Physiologists, Dietitians, and other Cardiovascular specific Nurses in an outpatient setting. The role involves providing input on creating safe exercise routines and educating patients. The department is described as a very tight-knit team.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • One year of Cardiac Rehab preferred
  • Minimum of Critical care experience
  • One Year in Cardiac Strongly preferred
  • CCRP—Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
