The Cardiac Medical Critical Care (CMCC) unit provides specialized care for critically ill patients requiring advanced cardiac and medical intensive care services. Nurses on CMCC care for high-acuity patients with complex cardiovascular, respiratory, and multi-system conditions while working alongside an interdisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and nursing colleagues. This fast-paced environment offers opportunities to develop advanced critical care skills while utilizing evidence-based practice to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana or eligibility for Indiana licensure.
  • Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Strong critical-thinking, prioritization, communication, and assessment skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience.
  • Previous critical care, cardiac, ICU, PCU, step-down, telemetry, emergency department, or related acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for high-acuity patients with complex cardiovascular, respiratory, and multi-system conditions.
  • Work alongside an interdisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and nursing colleagues.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Participate in unit-based councils, quality initiatives, and process improvement projects.
