Multi-Specialty Critical Care (MSCC) is a 13 bed critical care unit that provides care for a medically complex patient population. Gastrointestinal bleeds, overdoses, diabetic keto acidosis, respiratory failure, renal failure, and drug/alcohol withdrawal are examples of the more common diagnoses seen on this unit. Many of the patients of MSCC have comorbidities that complicate their course of treatment, which causes the nursing team to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible care and support. NCC is a 33-bed unit with a widely diverse neurosurgical, neurotrauma, neuroradiology, and medical neurological patient population, and is one of the largest neurocritical care units in the country. NCC staff care for some of the highest acuity neuro patients in the state and has the highest number of patient days in all the IUH Adult Academic Health Center. Dedication to excellence and quality care measures are of utmost importance to NCC staff and multi-disciplinary teams as evidenced by exceptional quality data.
