Multi-Specialty Critical Care (MSCC) is a 13 bed critical care unit that provides care for a medically complex patient population. Gastrointestinal bleeds, overdoses, diabetic keto acidosis, respiratory failure, renal failure, and drug/alcohol withdrawal are examples of the more common diagnoses seen on this unit. Many of the patients of MSCC have comorbidities that complicate their course of treatment, which causes the nursing team to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible care and support. NCC is a 33-bed unit with a widely diverse neurosurgical, neurotrauma, neuroradiology, and medical neurological patient population, and is one of the largest neurocritical care units in the country. NCC staff care for some of the highest acuity neuro patients in the state and has the highest number of patient days in all the IUH Adult Academic Health Center. Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
