Advanced Heart Care (5E) is a specialized Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) dedicated to caring for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. The unit manages patients with advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, congenital heart defects, infective endocarditis, and post-CABG recovery. The team also supports patients undergoing LVAD and heart transplant evaluations, as well as those requiring post-procedural care following cardiac catheterization, valve repair, and valve replacement procedures. As the only PCU within the organization that performs sheath removal following cardiac procedures, Advanced Heart Care (5E) offers a unique opportunity for nurses to develop highly specialized cardiac skills. The unit also focuses on comprehensive long-term cardiac care planning, helping patients navigate complex treatment pathways and optimize outcomes throughout their cardiac journey.
